New work opens in Denmark at Vinterlys 2023
We can’t wait to show our new project among the beautiful trees in Fredskoven, Skjern from the 18th to 25th February 2023💚
Be a Tree – Green Earth is a portal into a greener dimension. Imagine viewing the world from the perspective of a tree. And imagine making the world a greener place with the power of play.
The project playfully explores how technology can change our relationship with our planet. It is a sculptural digital artwork that blends sustainability and AR technologies– merging play with the climate debate and encouraging us to grow trees on earth.
The artwork, consists of a tall digital screen set among a circle of trees, creating a magical place that “morphs” people into colourful trees. The work invites people of all ages to strike a pose and become a tree. The technical interface reacts live to people’s gestures – when participants stand in front of the LED screen, a camera feed opens, and visitors can see themselves with a tree growing, live in front of them, based on their movements and shape. The tree is then “planted on earth” in a ring around a globe floating on the screen.
The screen becomes a digital green planet encouraging players to re-forest a version of the Earth – the more we play – the more trees we plant!

Vinterlys is an international light festival at Fredskoven in Skjern. The forest of peace (Danish title) will be transformed into a magical landscape with interactive art installations and performances, transforming the forrest into an engaging and visually spectacular artistic experience.
Vinterlys gives children and young people in West Jutland access to high-quality art. The festival’s focus is sustainability, climate and energy consumption – through art they investigate inspiring solutions!
The festival is FREE for all ages.
