A collaborative Arts & Science workshop project.
Illumination was an Arts and Science schools project for year 8 to 12, created by artist Tine Bech and scientist Kathryn Harkup. The project offered inspirational light drawing workshops to 10 different schools at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. A two-hour workshop included: a lecture on how artists and scientists use light, examples of inspiring light artworks, science experiments, making LED throwies and producing light drawings.
The workshop project ran in conjunction with the development of Tracing Light, a permanent interactive light installation created by Tine Bech and commission by UCA, Crafts Study Centre and the Farnham Maltings. Tracing Light explored light and movement and invited audience to participate and create light trails.
