Global Welcome was a light and movement project working with four schools to create artworks for the Olympic Village. Using light, drawing and movement young people worked with Tine Bech to create participatory light art. The images were created to welcome the athletes and were hung in the Olympic Village. As well as illustrating friendship and a sense of welcome the images represent sports moments and feelings such movement, joy and endurance.
The project offered both a method which facilitate great art but also a positive and playful experiences of being part of the London 2012 Games. Created in collaboration with Creative Campus Initiative working with the schools: Bosworth Community College, Navigation Primary School, Kingsmead Primary School and Burntwood School.
