The Playable City in Bristol and Brazil
Between January and April 2014, Recife: The Playable City will enable a select group of artists, producers and creative technologists to participate in a creative lab process spanning Bristol and Recife. This international initiative brings together practitioners from Pernambuco (Brazil) and the UK, to develop new works and share ideas that respond to the theme of ‘the playable city’.Working together, they will develop new ideas that use art and technology to engage and inspire audiences, demonstrating how playful ideas can empower citizens and tackle the challenges our future cities face.
The Playable City is a Watershed project delivered in collaboration with Porto Digital and the British Council, as part of the UK/Brazil Transform programme. The project is supported by the British Council’s Creative Economy programme and the Arts Council England, and draws on Watershed’s experience in working at the intersection of culture and digital technology.
