We are thrilled to have been longlisted for the 2020 Lumen Prize for Art and Technology. Our entry ‘We Believe‘ is a large-scale interactive piece that connects two cities via a control room with retro-style consoles. The project is an exploration of how art, technology and audience participation can intersect to shape cities. From a rooftop control tower, members of the public can take control of the lighting of two iconic buildings in two separate cities. A control room elicits thoughts of power from the rich calling their servants to the growing automation of the workforce – asking who is in command? The piece connects people and places, cities and cultures through light, participation – and play.
