Development of Public Artwork for a new kindergarden in Denmark

We are delighted to be developing a new public artwork for a new-build, carbon-neutral kindergarten in Denmark — a beautifully designed, sustainable building where play and learning intertwine.

In this early sketch stage, Tine is exploring ideas for a playable sculpture that invites children to move, imagine, and discover through play. The artwork will be both interactive and sculptural, creating a space where colour, form, and light encourage curiosity and connection.

When the kindergarten closes for the day, the artwork will remain open to the wider community — offering a shared public space for families and neighbours to enjoy together.

This new commission continues our studio’s commitment to creating inclusive, joyful experiences that connect people through play and reimagine how art can shape sustainable public places.

Concept in progress – more to come soon.

The new kindergarten is being built in close connection with the surrounding nature. The outdoor areas are designed as a natural playground where curiosity is nurtured, creating spaces to explore the possibilities of play. Every play element invites movement and playfulness while also encouraging contemplation and sensory immersion.
The kindergarten has come to life through a highly ambitious process, setting high standards for optimising LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) calculations, implementing biogenic materials, designing for disassembly, using recycled materials, and supporting biodiversity.
