Be a Tree – Green Earth debuted at Vinterlys 2023 among the beautiful trees of Fredskoven, Skjern from 18th to 25th February 2023. 💚
This new digital hybrid experience invites participants of all ages to become a tree! A vibrant light wall captures people inside the trees they grow, “planting” them on Earth. Visitors see themselves within their own living, growing tree, overlaid with beautiful, colourful visuals. The more we play, the more trees we grow!
We were proud to be part of the first off-grid light festival, powered entirely by a wind-generated battery provided by Vestas Green Energy.
The project playfully explores how technology can inspire tree planting and environmental awareness. Be a Tree – Green Earth is a portal into a greener dimension—imagine seeing the world from a tree’s perspective and making it greener through the power of play.
By blending technology, play, and sustainability, the project encourages the growth of trees and green spaces. Visitors planted over 11,000 trees 💚—each one saved online, forming a digital forest that will continue to grow!
Vinterlys is an international light festival at Fredskoven in Skjern. The forest of peace (Danish title) will be transformed into a magical landscape with interactive art installations and performances, transforming the forest into an engaging and visually spectacular artistic experience.
Vinterlys gives children and young people in West Jutland access to high-quality art. The festival’s focus is sustainability, climate and energy consumption – through art they investigate inspiring solutions!
The festival is FREE for all ages.
